Understanding Your Data Allowance

Most Vfast broadband services include unlimited data.


However, some Fast Broadband (WiMAX) and Holiday Park Broadband packages include a monthly data allowance.



Which Services Have a Data Allowance?

Data allowances apply to the following packages:


Fast Broadband (WiMAX):

  • AirFibre Lite
  • AirFibre Home
  • AirFibre Max


Holiday Park Broadband:

  • Park Max


The following packages are unlimited (subject to fair usage):

  • AirFibre Ultimate
  • Park Ultimate

Data Allowances Explained

Each qualifying package includes:

  • A fixed monthly data allowance
  • Downloads and uploads counted together
  • Usage measured across all connected devices

When Does My Allowance Reset?

  • Your allowance resets at 00:00 on the 1st of each month.
  • Unused data does not roll over.


Important: Please keep your equipment powered on so our systems can automatically restore your full speed when your allowance resets.




What Counts as Data Usage?

Everything sent or received over the internet counts, including:

  • Streaming TV, films, music and YouTube
  • Online gaming and updates
  • Video calls
  • Web browsing and social media
  • Cloud backups and smart devices
  • Software updates on phones, tablets, TVs and PCs
  • Uploading photos or videos


Because many devices update automatically, usage can increase even when you are not actively online.



What Happens If I Exceed My Allowance?

If your allowance is used up:

  • Your speed is reduced to 128kbps
  • This allows basic browsing and DigiVoice phone services to remain operational.


This remains in place until:

  • Your allowance resets on the 1st of the next month, or
  • You upgrade to a higher package, or
  • You purchase extra data


Extra data can be purchased:

  • Through your my.vfast account, or
  • By contacting our Accounts Team


Some unlimited packages:

  • May be temporarily rate-limited if usage is extremely high
  • This protects overall service quality for all customers



Fair Usage

Unlimited packages:

  • Are subject to our Fair Usage Policy
  • May be managed during extremely high or sustained usage
  • Are protected to ensure fair service for all customers

How to Check Your Usage

You can check your usage at any time in your my.vfast account.


Once logged in, you can:

  • View your current month’s usage
  • Check your remaining allowance
  • View monthly graphs
  • Purchase extra data (Bolt-ons)

Tips for Managing Your Usage

To reduce data use:

  • Reduce streaming quality
  • Disable automatic updates
  • Close background apps
  • Check for unexpected devices using data
  • Review cloud backups and smart cameras
