Choosing the Right Broadband Service
Broadband availability varies by location. The options shown for your address are based on the network infrastructure serving your property.
Our availability checker shows the best broadband service available for your address, rather than every technology that could technically work.
Why some broadband options may not appear
If Ultrafast Broadband (Full Fibre) is available at your address, you may not see Superfast Broadband (FTTC) listed. This is intentional.
Across the UK, providers are prioritising full-fibre services because they:
- Are more reliable
- Support higher speeds
- Are better suited for future upgrades
As a result, older copper-based services such as FTTC may not be offered alongside full fibre, even where they could technically work.
This ensures customers are placed on the most suitable and future-ready service available to them.
Our broadband technologies explained
Ultrafast Broadband (Full Fibre)
Fibre runs directly into your property.
This provides the most reliable performance and the best support for future speed increases.
Superfast Broadband (FTTC)
Fibre runs to the local street cabinet, with copper wiring into the property.
This is an older technology and is only offered where full fibre is not yet available.
Fast Broadband (WiMAX)
A wireless broadband service used in areas where fibre services are not available.
It provides a reliable alternative where traditional fibre infrastructure cannot reach.
