Superfast Broadband Install Guide

This guide explains what happens after you order Superfast Broadband (FTTC).

1. Order confirmation

You’ll receive an email confirming your package, contract, and next steps.

2. Pre-install checks

Superfast uses your existing copper phone line. You’ll need:

  • A working main phone socket
  • A nearby power socket for the router

If FTTC is already active or was recently active, your service may be activated remotely without an engineer visit. We’ll confirm this after ordering.

Typical lead times

  • Remote activation: a few working days
  • Engineer install: 1–2 weeks

3. Engineer visit (if required)

If needed:

  • We’ll confirm the appointment
  • Someone aged 18+ must be present
  • Access to the phone socket is required

The engineer may upgrade the socket or fit filters. No fibre is installed inside the property.

4. Router delivery

A pre-configured router is sent before or on activation day (to your address or an alternative location).

5. Activation and testing

On activation:

  • Plug in the router
  • It auto-configures
  • Test the connection

6. After installation

You can start using your service. Contact the Vfast Service Desk if you need help.
