Superfast Broadband Connecting Your Router

New Superfast Broadband (FTTC) services include a pre-configured router with a built-in modem.
Follow the steps below to connect it.

Check your phone socket

Superfast Broadband uses one of two socket types:

  • Single-port socket (older master or extension)
  • Dual-port master socket (separate Phone and DSL ports)

Your setup depends on which socket you have.

For more detail, see Superfast Broadband – Phone Sockets.

Single-port socket

  1. Plug a microfilter into the phone socket
  2. Connect the DSL cable to the DSL side of the microfilter
  3. Connect the other end to the DSL port on the router
  4. Plug in the power and switch the router on

Dual-port master socket

  1. Plug the DSL cable directly into the DSL port on the socket
  2. Connect the other end to the DSL port on the router
  3. Plug in the power and switch the router on

Important

  • Do not use a microfilter with a dual-port master socket
  • Do not plug the router into the Phone port
  • DigiVoice phones connect to the router, not the wall socket

When will it work?

  • The router connects automatically
  • This can take up to 10 minutes
  • The Internet light turns green when ready

You can then connect devices by Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

If it does not connect after 10 minutes, contact the Vfast Service Desk.
