Engineer Visit Preparation Checklist

Use this checklist to make sure everything is ready before your engineer visit. This helps avoid delays, repeat visits, or possible charges.

Before the Day of the Visit

  • Make sure someone over the age of 18 will be available for the appointment window.
  • Check the appointment date and time window we’ve provided.
  • Read any preparation advice sent to you by our team.
  • Let us know as soon as possible if you need to reschedule or cancel.

Access and Safety

Ensure clear access to:

  • The broadband router and a working power socket
  • Phone or data sockets (if applicable)
  • The ONT or fibre equipment (for Ultrafast / Full Fibre services)
  • External equipment or antenna (for WiMAX or some park services)

Also:

  • Unlock any gates, cupboards, lofts, or sheds if access is required
  • Secure pets if the engineer needs to work inside or outside
  • Make sure working areas are safe and free from obstructions

Equipment Checks

  • Leave all broadband equipment powered on
  • Do not reset or unplug equipment unless we have asked you to
  • Keep details of the fault handy in case the engineer needs clarification

On the Day

  • Keep your phone nearby in case the engineer calls with an estimated arrival time
  • Be aware arrival times can change if earlier jobs overrun
  • Engineer visits normally take place Monday to Friday

If Something Changes

If you cannot attend or access will not be available:

  • Contact us as early as possible
  • Late cancellations or missed appointments may result in charges
