Managing Your Wi-Fi with the Aginet App

The TP-Link Aginet app allows you to manage your home Wi-Fi network from a mobile phone or tablet. It can be used with compatible Vfast-supplied TP-Link routers and V-Smart mesh units.

The Aginet app is optional.

Your broadband and Wi-Fi will work fully without it.

Vfast primarily supports Wi-Fi changes made through your router’s web interface. The Aginet app is provided as a convenience for customers who prefer app-based management.

What Is the Aginet App?

Aginet is a mobile app developed by TP-Link that lets you view and manage your Wi-Fi network without using a web browser.

It can manage:

  • Your main router
  • Any connected V-Smart mesh units
  • Basic Wi-Fi and device settings

Do I Need the Aginet App?

No.

You do not need the Aginet app to:

  • Use your broadband service
  • Use Wi-Fi
  • Use V-Smart mesh units
  • Change Wi-Fi settings (these can be done via the router)

What Can I Do with the Aginet App?

The Aginet app provides basic, everyday Wi-Fi management, including:

  • Viewing connected devices
  • Changing your Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password
  • Checking mesh signal strength and placement
  • Restarting your router or mesh units
  • Basic parental controls

Feature availability may vary depending on your router model.

When Might the Aginet App Be Useful?

You may find the app helpful if:

  • You prefer managing Wi-Fi from your phone
  • You want a quick view of connected devices
  • You use V-Smart mesh units and want placement feedback
  • You want simple controls without logging into the router

Getting Started with the Aginet App

If you choose to use the app:

  1. Download TP-Link Aginet from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
  2. Open the app and create or sign in with a TP-Link ID
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to detect your router
  4. Enter the routers Admin Password
(typically first initial and surname with 1 on the end e.g jbloggs1)
  5. The app will automatically find compatible mesh units if present

Using Aginet with V-Smart Mesh Units

If you have V-Smart mesh units:

  • The app can show signal quality between units
  • It can help identify better placement locations

The app is not required for mesh setup.

Important Support Information

If you choose to manage your Wi-Fi using the Aginet app:

  • Vfast cannot see or access your Aginet app
  • Some settings may appear differently than in the router interface
  • The Service Desk team may ask you to log into your router instead when troubleshooting
  • Advanced network changes are not supported via the app

For full support, Vfast may guide you to use the router’s web interface.

If You Prefer Not to Use the App

That’s completely fine.

You can:

  • Manage Wi-Fi through your router login
  • Use V-Smart mesh units without the app
  • Receive full Vfast support using standard router access
