Equipment You Must Return

Different Vfast services include different equipment. Some items belong to you, while others remain the property of Vfast and must be returned when your service ends.


This guide explains what must be returned, what must stay in place, and what you can keep.



1. Equipment that must be returned

V-Smart Mesh Wi-Fi units

If you subscribe to V-Smart Mesh Wi-Fi, these units are leased and must be returned when:

  • Your broadband service ends, or
  • Your V-Smart subscription is cancelled


Failure to return them may result in a charge.


Any equipment we specifically request

In some cases, we may ask for additional equipment to be returned (for example, items supplied for a trial or special promotion).


If this applies, we will contact you directly with instructions.



2. Equipment that must stay at the property

Fibre ONT (Optical Network Terminal)

This is the fibre box fitted to your wall (for example Nokia, ZTE, Openreach or CityFibre models).

  • It is part of the network
  • It must not be removed


WiMAX radios (external antennas)

Outdoor radio receivers normally remain attached to the property for future occupants.

  • They belong to Vfast
  • Removal can be requested, but a call-out fee may apply


Holiday park installations

All equipment installed in caravans, lodges or park units must stay in place, including:

  • External WiMAX radios
  • Internal access points
  • Installed cabling


This allows the next owner or guest to be connected without delay.



3. Equipment you can keep

Vfast routers

Your router is yours to keep when your service ends.


You may:

  • Take it with you when you move, or
  • Leave it for the next occupant


Important:

  • Most Vfast routers are locked for use only on Vfast services
  • They cannot be used with another provider
  • They may be reused if you start a new Vfast service at a different address



4. How to return equipment

If you need to return equipment (such as V-Smart units), we will give you instructions when your cancellation is processed.


Return options may include:

  • Posting it back
  • Local drop-off (if available)
  • Prepaid return label (on request)


Please ensure:

  • All cables and power supplies are included
  • Equipment is packaged securely



5. If equipment is not returned

If required equipment is not returned within the timeframe given:

  • A replacement charge may be applied


This mainly applies to:

  • V-Smart Mesh units
  • Any equipment we specifically request back


We will always notify you before any charge is applied.
