Appointment Windows & What to Expect
Engineer visits are booked using time windows, not exact arrival times.
The type of window depends on which network delivers your service.
How Appointment Times Work
Engineers are scheduled across multiple jobs each day. Because earlier visits can overrun, an exact arrival time cannot be guaranteed.
You must be available for the full appointment window.
Appointment Windows by Service Type
Vfast Engineer Visits (Kent Residential & Holiday Parks)
For services supported directly by Vfast engineers (such as Kent WiMAX or holiday parks):
- Exact arrival times cannot be guaranteed
- Visits usually take place during normal working hours (9am–5pm)
- Where possible, we can request a call ahead on the day, but this cannot be guaranteed
Ultrafast & Superfast Broadband (Openreach)
If your service is provided via the Openreach network:
Appointments are booked as:
- AM: 8:00am – 1:00pm
- PM: 1:00pm – 6:00pm
Other important points:
- Appointments run Monday to Friday
- Someone over 18 must be present for the full window
- You can usually choose AM or PM (subject to availability)
Ultrafast Broadband (OFNL)
If your service is delivered via the OFNL network:
- Appointments are not given AM/PM time slots
- The engineer will usually contact you on the day with an estimated arrival time
- Appointments run Monday to Friday
- Access must be available for the full day
This is an OFNL network policy and applies to all providers using their network.
Ultrafast Broadband (CityFibre)
If your service is delivered via the CityFibre network:
Appointments are available:
- Monday to Saturday
- AM: 8:00am – 1:00pm
- PM: 1:00pm – 6:00pm
Other important points:
- Someone over 18 must be present for the full window
On the Day of the Visit
Please ensure that:
- Someone over 18 is present
- Access is clear to all relevant equipment
- Pets are secured if necessary
The engineer may arrive at any time within the window, especially if earlier jobs overrun.
Changing or Cancelling an Appointment
If you need to change or cancel:
- Tell us as early as possible
- Missed or late cancellations may result in charges, depending on the network operator
